Mark Twain said, “Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”

How powerful is that?  How can something we inherently have be so difficult to actually give?  It’s free!  While that may be true in terms of dollars, kindness has a value.  It cannot be purchased, measured or weighed.  Its explicit behavior shapes and marks our character.  It inspires our disposition and transcends words.  It’s an action.  It’s intentional. It’s a choice.

Have you ever been the recipient of a random act of kindness?  It feels as if your heart is smiling.  You tell other people about it.  You want to do something for someone else.  It’s contagious.   My prayer is for it to become an epidemic.  We know what’s promised for us eternally but I believe we can experience the joy it brings right here.  In a world where many people are striving to obtain material possessions, working more and more, and spending less time with those we claim to love I ask, what is the real cost?  To obtain things that we will outgrow or become outdated seems fruitless when compared to something we already have; kindness.  It’s abundant and there is no limit.  Give it away!
